Yes, this standard can be implemented on its own. As part of this standard, there is reference to a Quality Management System, however this can be implemented as part of this standard. If your business has ISO 9001, Quality, then that section is taken care with that certificate. This standard could be tied into health and safety, and environmental standards.
Is this standard for laboratory testing only?
No. The standard is also applied to businesses that calibrate instruments. This provides them with the framework to ensure that calibrations are conducted to the highest level of quality.
